Airworthiness of mass-market drones |
Description
of call "Airworthiness of mass-market drones" | It has been proven that the majority of incidents involving drones are caused by technical problems rather than errors by operators. Moreover, their fields of employment keep spreading. A common regulation is necessary to create a safe environment and the EASA is currently developing a regulatory framework built upon best practices. Proposals should aim at gathering information on on-going works on rules, standards and procedures for all categories of drones and enhance their development. Consortia should include actors from all steps of the drone value-chain. Proposals should also try to accelerate the timing of the regulation yet ensuring quality and increase the acceptance of EU standards in the drones’ product and service marketplace. |
