Description of programme
"Rights, Equality and Citizenship"

The general objective of the Programme shall be to contribute, in accordance with Article 4 of the Treaty on the EU (TEU), to the further development of an area where equality and the rights of persons as enshrined in the TEU, in the Treaty of the Functioning of the EU (TFEU), in the Charter of fundamental rights of the EU and in the international human rights conventions to which the Union has acceded, are promoted, protected and effectively implemented. The Programme follows 9 Specific objectives:

  1. Promote non–discrimination
  2. Combat racism, xenophobia, homophobia and other forms of intolerance
  3. Promote rights of persons with disabilities
  4. Promote equality between women and men and gender mainstreaming
  5. Prevent violence against children, young people, women and other groups at risk (Daphne)
  6. Promote the rights of the child
  7. Ensure the highest level of data protection
  8. Promote the rights deriving from Union citizenship
  9. Enforce consumer rights

Capacity-building in the area of rights of the child
Description of call
"Capacity-building in the area of rights of the child"
This call for proposals will focus on the following priorities:
Priority 1. To increase general awareness and knowledge, including among children, of children rights and in particular, but not limited to, the right to be heard and express their voices on issues that matter to them;
Priority 2. To design, test, establish and evaluate mechanisms of child participation at local level;
Priority 3. To assess national legislative and policy frameworks for child participation, with a view to designing and implementing tools to promote child participation at national level.

Applicant details Applicants and co-applicants must be public entities or private organisations, duly established in one of the countries participating in the Programme, or international organisations.

Organisations which are profit-oriented must submit applications in partnership with public entities or private non-profit organisations.
