"EEA and Norway Grants"
The EEA and Norway Grants is a programme that provides funding from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway to 16 EU countries in order to strengthen bilateral relations and to reduce economic and social disparities by providing regional funds. 
5 Priorities have been defined on which the programme is focusing on during the period of 2014-2021:
  1. Innovation, Research and Competitiveness
  2. Social Inclusion, Youth Employment and Poverty Reduction
  3. Environment, Energy, Climate Change and Low Carbon Economy
  4. Culture, Civil Society, Good Governance and Fundamental Rights
  5. Justice and Home Affairs
Each of these Priorities focus on specific programme areas that can be found in detail on the programme website.

Description of programme
"The EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Regional Cooperation"
The EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Regional Cooperation supports projects that focus on cross-border and transnational cooperation between donor countries, the countries from the funding area and the ten non-EU Member States that are part of the Fund for Regional Cooperation. The Priorities are the same as the Priorities of the programme.

Description of call
"Common Challenges - Shared Solutions"
Proposals need to be regional cross-border or transnational and have to involve multiple partners and activities in different countries. This call includes all Priorities of the EEA and Norway Grants. Actions should focus on soft measures such as:
  • knowledge-sharing
  • exchange of good practices
  • capacity building within all priority sectors

Eligible applicants Federal State / Region / City / Municipality / Local Authority, National Government, NGO / NPO, Lobby Group / Professional Association / Trade Union, Enterprise (more than 250 employees or not defined), University, Research Institution, International Organization, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, SMEs (between 10 and 249 employees), Association
Applicant details Each project must include 1 lead partner and at least 2 beneficiary partners of which at least 1 must be from a Beneficiary State (the 15 EU-Member States that are eligible for funding in the context of this programme).

Project Partner Details Projects need to consist of at least 3 partners from 3 different countries of which 2 need to be Beneficiary States.

Applications will be submitted in two stages:

  • Stage 1: Concept note (Deadline: 01.07.2018)
  • Stage 2: Full proposal (Deadline: 15.12.2018)

Shortlisted applicants will be notified and invited to submit full proposals in October 2018.
