"Rights, Equality and Citizenship"

The general objective of the Programme shall be to contribute, in accordance with Article 4 of the Treaty on the EU (TEU), to the further development of an area where equality and the rights of persons as enshrined in the TEU, in the Treaty of the Functioning of the EU (TFEU), in the Charter of fundamental rights of the EU and in the international human rights conventions to which the Union has acceded, are promoted, protected and effectively implemented. The Programme follows 9 Specific objectives:

  1. Promote non–discrimination
  2. Combat racism, xenophobia, homophobia and other forms of intolerance
  3. Promote rights of persons with disabilities
  4. Promote equality between women and men and gender mainstreaming
  5. Prevent violence against children, young people, women and other groups at risk (Daphne)
  6. Promote the rights of the child
  7. Ensure the highest level of data protection
  8. Promote the rights deriving from Union citizenship
  9. Enforce consumer rights

Ensure the highest level of protection of privacy and personal data
Description of call
"Ensure the highest level of protection of privacy and personal data"
The Data Protection Reform is one of the constituent elements of a 'Connected Digital Single Market' and an 'Area of Justice and Fundamental Rights based on mutual trust' and its application in 2018 needs effective and uniform preparation.

Activities:
  • Awareness raising towards individuals, private and public sector (particular attention to individuals and public sector)
  • training in particular for SMEs and public sector personnel dealing and with data protection issues
  • seminars/workshops/conferences with stakeholders, both general and sector specific (e.g. health, finance, research, energy etc.); some of these seminars could function on concrete case studies in order to understand outstanding issues regarding General Data Protection Regulation implementation and detect possible best practices.
Throughout these activities the involvement of national data protection supervisory authorities (DPAs) could be an asset in order to bring their perspective as enforcers of data protection legislation.

Objectives:
  • increased awareness of data protection and increased capacity of national experts / civil society to address issues related to data protection
  • improved knowledge on the legislation and administrative practices related to data protection

Organisations which are profit-oriented must submit applications in partnership with public entities or private non-profit organisations.
