Description of programme
"Rights, Equality and Citizenship"

The general objective of the Programme shall be to contribute, in accordance with Article 4 of the Treaty on the EU (TEU), to the further development of an area where equality and the rights of persons as enshrined in the TEU, in the Treaty of the Functioning of the EU (TFEU), in the Charter of fundamental rights of the EU and in the international human rights conventions to which the Union has acceded, are promoted, protected and effectively implemented. The Programme follows 9 Specific objectives:

  1. Promote non–discrimination
  2. Combat racism, xenophobia, homophobia and other forms of intolerance
  3. Promote rights of persons with disabilities
  4. Promote equality between women and men and gender mainstreaming
  5. Prevent violence against children, young people, women and other groups at risk (Daphne)
  6. Promote the rights of the child
  7. Ensure the highest level of data protection
  8. Promote the rights deriving from Union citizenship
  9. Enforce consumer rights

The call is aimed at supporting projects in the field of countering hate speech online, including projects aimed at contributing to better understand, monitor, prevent and counter hate speech online.

Applicant details Applicants and co-applicants must be public entities or private organisations, duly established in one of the countries participating in the Programme, or international organisations. Organisations which are profit-oriented must submit applications in partnership with public entities or private non-profit organisations.

Project Partner Details Project partnerships must consist of a minimum of 2 organisations. While proposals are not required to be transnational, the added value of projects involving organisations from more than one participating country is of particular interest.
