Moving freight by Water: Sustainable Infrastructure and Innovative Vessels
Description of call
"Moving freight by Water: Sustainable Infrastructure and Innovative Vessels"
The intra-European waterborne transport as well as waterborne transport with neighbouring countries needs to be modernised, since this means of transport is under-utilised in Europe even though it can reduce transport CO2 emissions. This modernisation is particularly needed in the outermost regions where automation and digitisation should be fostered in order to enable more efficient and reliable participation in the whole supply chain. Proposals under this call should either focus on inland waterways or maritime transport. Additionally, every proposal needs to focus on 4 of the aspects that are elaborated in more detail in the call text.
