Description of programme
"European Maritime and Fisheries Fund"
The overall objective of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) is to promote the fundamental objective of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP), which is to contribute to the improvement of the economic, environmental and social performance of the European fisheries sector. Furthermore, EMFF also aims to boost further growth in all European maritime sectors through targeted research and smart investment. In order to achieve these objectives, EMFF is divided into the following Priority Axes (PA):
  • PA1 - Sustainable fisheries
  • PA2 - Sustainable aquaculture
  • PA3 - Implementing the CFP
  • PA4 - Marketing and processing
  • PA5 - Employment and territorial cohesion
  • PA6 - Integrated maritime policy

Ocean Monitoring
Description of call
"Ocean Monitoring"
The general objectives of this call for proposals are:
  • To increase the amount of environmental data and improve knowledge on assessing possible impacts of ocean energy devices (wave, tidal and ocean thermal energy conversion) deployed at sea;
  • To contribute to reducing uncertainty in modelling potential impacts of future ocean energy devices;
  • To provide guidance to ocean energy developers and to public competent authorities in charge of licencing and maritime planning;
  • To inform stakeholders and help feed the public debate.

Applicant details
  • Applicants may be established in non-EU countries provided their involvement is necessary in view of the nature of the action and in order to reach its objectives. The consortium coordinator has to be established in an EU Member State. 
  • Applicants must be active at least in one of the following fields: marine biology, renewable energy, marine energy, maritime spatial planning, marine engineering, offshore activities, environmental legislation, environment monitoring and consenting, or any other field if its relevance for the project is duly justified in the proposal.
