"Creative Europe"

Creative Europe's stated aims are to help the cultural and creative sectors seize the opportunities of the digital age and globalisation, enable the sectors to reach their economic potential, contributing to sustainable growth, jobs, and social cohesion, and to give Europe's culture and media sectors access to new international opportunities, markets, and audiences.
This will, amongst others, involve funding for:

  • artists and cultural professionals
  • cinemas
  • films
  • book translations

Description of programme
"Culture"
Under the Culture sub-programme, opportunities exist for:
  • Cooperation between cultural and creative organisations from different countries;
  • Initiatives to translate and promote literary works across the European Union;
  • Networks helping the cultural and creative sector to operate competitively and transnationally;
  • Establishing platforms to promote emerging artists and stimulating European programming for cultural and artistic works.

Description of call
"Organisation and implementation of an annual European Union Prize for Literature"
This call for proposals has the purpose to fund the organisation of the European Union Prize for Literature (EUPL), which is an annual prize for new and emerging European authors.
The specific aim of this Call is twofold:
  • To ensure the continuation of the EUPL for the period 2019-2021 and consolidate the EUPL’s position in the book sector and among the public
  • To modernise and strengthen the EUPL over this three year period

Applicant details Only 1 proposal will be funded

Financial details Total budget for 2019: 500 000 €
  • The appropriations for a specific grant for the 2020 and 2021 editions will be confirmed at a later stage
