"Creative Europe"

Creative Europe's stated aims are to help the cultural and creative sectors seize the opportunities of the digital age and globalisation, enable the sectors to reach their economic potential, contributing to sustainable growth, jobs, and social cohesion, and to give Europe's culture and media sectors access to new international opportunities, markets, and audiences.
This will, amongst others, involve funding for:

  • artists and cultural professionals
  • cinemas
  • films
  • book translations

Description of programme
"Culture"
Under the Culture sub-programme, opportunities exist for:
  • Cooperation between cultural and creative organisations from different countries;
  • Initiatives to translate and promote literary works across the European Union;
  • Networks helping the cultural and creative sector to operate competitively and transnationally;
  • Establishing platforms to promote emerging artists and stimulating European programming for cultural and artistic works.

Description of call
"Support for European cooperation projects related to the European Year of cultural Heritage 2018"
This call supports European cultural operators active in the cultural and creative sectors, conducting European cooperation projects related to the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
The two objectives of the support for European cooperation projects related to EYCH 2018 are:
(1) To reinforce a sense of belonging to a common European space;
(2) To promote cultural heritage as a source of inspiration for artistic contemporary creation and innovation and strengthen the interaction between the cultural heritage sector and other cultural and creative sectors.

Applicant details The project leader must have had a legal personality for at least 2 years on the date of the deadline for submission of applications.
The following types of entities are not eligible as project leader:
- Higher education institutions (including but not limited to Universities) and related research oriented foundations, associations or organisations;
- Research institutions and/or organisations, foundations or associations working in the research field;
- Tourism organisations and/or associations.

Project Partner Details The projects shall involve a project leader and at least two other partners having their legal seat in at least three different countries taking part in the Creative Europe – Culture Sub-programme.

Further info A project cannot be submitted under the Call for "Support for European cooperation projects related to the European Year of cultural Heritage 2018" and the Call for "Cross-border Cooperation projects".
Type of Funding Grant
Financial details The EU grant requested cannot be more than 200 000 € per project, representing maximum 60% of the total eligible costs.
The total budget for this Call for Proposals is estimated at 5 Mio. €.
Submission Applications must be submitted to and received by the Executive Agency (EACEA) using the online application form (eForm) on the EACEA-Website. The applicant and all partner organisations must be registered in the Participant Portal.
