"Creative Europe"

Creative Europe's stated aims are to help the cultural and creative sectors seize the opportunities of the digital age and globalisation, enable the sectors to reach their economic potential, contributing to sustainable growth, jobs, and social cohesion, and to give Europe's culture and media sectors access to new international opportunities, markets, and audiences.
This will, amongst others, involve funding for:

  • artists and cultural professionals
  • cinemas
  • films
  • book translations

Description of programme
"Culture"

Under the Culture sub-programme, opportunities exist for:

  • Cooperation between cultural and creative organisations from different countries;
  • Initiatives to translate and promote literary works across the European Union;
  • Networks helping the cultural and creative sector to operate competitively and transnationally;
  • Establishing platforms to promote emerging artists and stimulating European programming for cultural and artistic works.

Support to literary translation projects
Description of call
"Support to literary translation projects"

The main objectives of the support for literary translation projects are to support cultural and linguistic diversity in the Union and in other countries participating in the Culture Sub- programme and to promote the transnational circulation of high quality literary works, as well as to improve access to these literary works in the Union and beyond and to reach new audiences. Proposals can either be submitted as a two-year project or as a framework partnership agreement (FPA) with a maximum duration of 3 years.

Project Partner Details Eligible applicants must be publishers or publishing houses established in one of the countries participating in the Culture Sub-programme who have had a legal personality and are active in the publishing sector for at least 2 years on the date of the deadline for submission of applications.

A minimum term of 2 years is provided for the translation and promotion of 3 -10 literature works.
Projects submitted under the category of an FPA, consist of the translation, publication and promotion from 9 to 30 books over the 3-year duration of the FPA.

The EU grant is max. 100 000 € covering max. 50% of the eligible project costs.
