Description of programme
"Interreg Greece – Cyprus"
The overall objectives of Interreg Greece - Cyprus are to strengthen the region's competitiveness and to protect the environment of the Programme area as well as to improve risk-management and adoption to climate change. In order to achieve these goals, the Programme focuses on 3 Priority Axes (PA) with Specific Objectives (SO):
  • PA 1 - Promote competitiveness and entrepreneurship
    • SO 1.1 - Increased use of ICT in areas of common interest (e-government, e-business, e-culture and tourism)
    • SO 1.2 - Promote extroversion of SMEs
  • PA 2 - Efficient use of energy and sustainable transport
    • SO 2.1 - Increased saving of energy in public buildings
    • SO 2.2 - Decreased ecological footprint of public transport in urban areas with severe gas pollution
    • SO 2.3 - Strengthened interoperability and safety in maritime traffic
  • PA 3 - Conservation and protection of environment and risk-prevention
    • SO 3.1 - Improved common risk-management to prevent natural, technological and human disasters
    • SO 3.2 - Improved attractiveness for areas of natural and cultural interest
    • SO 3.3 - Improved maritime spatial planning and coast-management
    • SO 3.4 - Improved efficiency for using waste- and water resources
