Description of programme
"Interreg Estonia – Latvia"

This Interreg Programme funds action that support cross-border cooperation between Estonia and Latvia. Specifically, the Programme supports proposals addressing the following Thematic Objectives (TO) with its respective Specific Objectives (SO):

TO3: enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs
- SO 1.1. Increased entrepreneurial cross-border cooperation in the programme area
- SO 1.2. More jointly developed products and services in the programme area
TO6: preserving and protecting the environment and promoting resource efficiency
- SO 2.1. More diversified and sustainable use of natural and cultural heritage ~ 6 million euros
- SO 2.2. Increased awareness of energy saving, sorting waste and re-use, and the more efficient management of common water resources
- SO 2.3. More integrated Valga-Valka central urban area
TO7: promoting sustainable transport and removing bottlenecks in key network infrastructures
- SO 3.1. An improved network of small harbours with good levels of service
TO8: promoting sustainable and quality employment and supporting labour mobility
- SO 4.1. Improved conditions for accessing jobs across the border

Projects must comprise at least 1 partner from the Estonian Programme area and 1 partner from the Latvian Programme area.

Eligible applicants

Federal State / Region / City / Municipality / Local Authority, National Government, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, SMEs (between 10 and 249 employees), NGO / NPO, University, Lobby Group / Professional Association / Trade Union

Applicant details

Applicants from outside the Programme area may participate in exceptional cases if their involvement is necessary for the successful implementation of the project.
Each project has to appoint a lead partner who is responsible for the whole project.
