"Interreg Saxony – Czech Republic"

The Cooperation programme addresses some of the important cross-border challenges which are linked to the implementation of Europe 2020 in the German-Czech border region. Cross-border cooperation projects can be implemented within the framework of four thematic focus points (priority axes):

  • Adaptation to climate change , risk prevention and risk management
  • Maintaining and protecting the environment and forwarding ressource efficiency
  • Investing in eductation, vocational and professional training for competence and life-long learning
  • Improving the capacities of public bodies and stakeholders and an efficient public administration

Programme languages are German and Czech.

Project Partner Details

Prerequisites for the funding are amongst others:

  • The cooperation consists of at least one partner from the German project area and one partner from the Czech project area that work jointly and fulfill at least three of the four criteria of cross-border cooperation (joint planning, joint implementation, financing and/or joint personnel).
  • One German or Czech partner assumes the full responsibility for the proper implementation of the project on a level of content, administration and finance (lead partner principle).
  • The project operates within the programme area.
  • In exceptional cases, trilateral projects that include a Polish cooperational partner will be granted funding.
Financial details Total budget: 189,274,570 €
Total EU contribution: 157,967,067 €

The maximum quota amounts to 85% of all of eligible costs. The funding follows the principles of reimbursement. The funding is accorded as an earmarked and non-refundable grant (principle of co-financing). The requested amount for each project must amount to a minimum of 15 000 €.
