"Large Infrastructure Romania"

The Large Infrastructure Operational Programme (LIOP) aims at promoting sustainable economic growth as well as safe and efficient use of natural resources. It addresses the development challenges identified at national level in terms of transport infrastructure, sustainable urban transport, environment, energy and risk prevention. In order to achieve these objectives, the Programme focuses on the following Priority Axes (PA):

  • PA1 - Improving mobility through the development of the TEN-T network and the subway
  • PA2 - Developing a multimodal, quality, sustainable and efficient transport system
  • PA3 - Developing environmental infrastructure under resource efficient management conditions
  • PA4 - Environmental protection through biodiversity conservation measures, air quality monitoring and decontamination of historically polluted sites
  • PA5 - Promoting adaptation to climate change, prevention and risk management
  • PA6 - Promoting clean energy and energy efficiency to support a low-carbon economy
  • PA7 - Increasing energy efficiency at the level of centralized district heating in selected cities
  • PA8 - Intelligent and sustainable transport systems for electricity and natural gas
