Description of programme
"Rural Development Sicilia"
This Programme focuses on improving the farm and forestry sectors, on promoting social inclusion and economic development in rural areas as well as on restoring, preserving and enhancing ecosystems in the region of Sicily. In order to achieve these objectives, the Programme focuses on the following Priority Axes (PA):
  • PA1 - Knowledge transfer and innovation in agriculture, forestry and rural areas
  • PA2 - Farm viability, competitiveness and sustainable forest management
  • PA3 - Food chain organisation, including processing and marketing of agricultural products, animal welfare and risk management
  • PA4 - Restoring, preserving and enhancing ecosystems in agriculture and forestry
  • PA5 -Resource efficiency and shift to low carbon and climate resilience economy in agriculture, food and forestry sectors
  • PA6 - Social inclusion, poverty reduction and economic development in rural areas
