and its usefulness and lasts not more than two years. A Preparatory Action - normally the successor of a successful pilot
project on the same matter - is designed to prepare new actions like EU policies, legislation, programmes etc. with funding

of call "Pilot Project - Satellite Broadband Internet Access for Educational Multimedia Contents to Unconnected Schools" |
The general objective of the pilot project is to contribute to assessing the benefits of a broadband connectivity via
satellite in areas impacted by digital divide with the support of regional or national public authorities, as a precursor
of the even larger benefits that the European Gigabit Society will later make largely available. Proposals shall
help the Commission to achieve, among others, the following specific objectives: - Analysis of EU regions in long-term
digital divide and impacted sectors and population notably for schools; - Assessment of simple, efficient and cost-effective
implementation schemes to ensure easy access to satellite broadband connectivity; - Assessment of the benefit of
distribution via satellite of educational multimedia content. |
