FAQ - Frequently asked Questions

This page is regularly updated with the answers to the most common questions asked to the EuroAccess team when assisting them in their search for funding instruments and funds.

  • Can I receive a notification or an alert if new funding opportunities are available?

Yes, you can sign up to the EuroAccess Newsletter. There, you can select the topics and regions relevant for you and you will be informed via the email newsletter once the European Commission publishes a fitting call.

  • How can I fin out whether I am eligible for a grant?

Read the eligibility criteria in the call document. If you fulfil all the criteria, you are eligible.

  • How do I apply fo a grant?

If you find a grant in the Funding & tender opportunities portal, carefully read the call document which explains the application procedure. Normally, you will apply directly to the European Commission or an executive agency that runs the programme in question. The calls are generally open for two months and have a strict application deadline. You need to submit your project before the deadline through the relevant submission system.

  • How do I register and log into the Funding & Tenders Portal?

You need an EU Login account for accessing the personalised services of the Funding & Tenders Portal. However, the EU Login alone does not give you access to proposals, projects or organisation data. For this, you need special roles in proposals, projects or organisation. For more information about these roles, please see the Online Manual. If you do not yet have an EU Login, you must create an account by clicking on REGISTER in the upper right corner of the Funding & Tenders Portal.

The Online Manual also gives introductory information about creating an EU Login.

  • How does EU funding work?

Almost 80% of EU funding is managed by national and regional authorities in the Member States. This includes structural funds and agricultural subsidies. To access these funds, you need to apply via the relevant authority in your member state. The remaining funds are administered by the European Commission through centrally managed programmes, either grants or contracts, and are published on the Funding & tender opportunities portal.

  • I clicked on logout from the Funding & Tenders Portal but I am still logged in. What can I do?

To log out of the system you need to select "logout" and then close all your browser windows.

  • I wanted to apply for funding under a specific call but I missed the deadline for application. Can I still submit my project proposal?

No, following the principles of fairness and transparency, all deadlines for funding are final. Applications can therefore not be submitted after the deadline has passed. However, similar calls might be planned under the programme in the future. Please consult the websites of the programme for more information on future calls.

  • What is a Call for proposals?

The European Commission promotes grant opportunities through calls for proposals. The call for proposal includes all the information needed to submit a proposal and therefore you should read it carefully. The text in the call document defines, amongst other, the scope, targeted objectives and outcomes of the project, eligibility criteria and evaluation criteria. Your project proposal needs to match the requirements as perfectly as possible. Competition for EU funding is high and your project competes against other projects.
